100 up final

The final of the men’s 100 up final was played on Sunday between Steve Pallot and Clive Padgham.

The first five ends saw a 10, nine, eight and seven shared to see the handicaps wiped off and both players on zero.

Steve got 21 over the next four ends to Clive’s 19, but then Steve got on a roll with some superb bowls to get 41/9 over the next five ends and lead 62/28.

Clive fought back over the next, gaining 44 points to 26 and this kept him in the game with a score line of 88/72.

Steve went to 94 on the next end and when he drew a bowl six inches from the jack Clive had to drive to kill the end, but wasn’t able to do so.

Clive played a good game, but Steve had some brilliant bowls to be a worthy winner of the final.
