-

Both Longwarry teams travelled to Drouin on Saturday and in blustery conditions, both teams came away with the points to finish the season on top in their respective divisions.

Division three won by 34 shots and will meet Drouin again next week in the semi final, while division six just got home by six shots.

Division 3: Longwarry 18/116 defeated Drouin 2/82.

Simon Counsel, Grant Pask, Ian Peterson and Russell White (skip) were defeated by Noel Rubenstein’s team 22/30.

Elio Meggetto, Judy Eastwell, Kenneth Towt and Barry White (skip) defeated Col Finger’s team 33/11.

In an even game for the first half, Longwarry went to the tea break two shots ahead but totally dominated the game after tea, only allowing Drouin to win one end and winning by 22 shots to be the king rink.

Brian Hennessy, Mark Serong, Jimmy Buckley and Kenny White (skip) defeated Graham Woolstencroft’s team 24/19.

In an even game throughout the day, Longwarry managed to pick up five shots in the last four ends to win by five shots.

Longwarry were well lead by skip Kenny White who celebrated a large milestone the day before.

The ‘D’ team, who welcomed Vicki Hanks into the side, were evenly poised with the scores all even after 10 ends.

Then Longwarry, with Bluey leading well, picked up 18 shots in the next six ends to set up a great 16 shot win.

The club sends a big get well soon to Lloyd, and hope to see him back on the green soon.

Reg Dunn, Ron Sutton, Fred Pitcher and Brian Mason (skip) defeated T Lawler’s team 33/16.

Longwarry dominated the majority of the game and by end 18 the score was 29/4.

But Drouin put some good bowls in late to make the scoreboard look better. Longwarry ended up winning by 19 shots.

Sharon Twite, Eddy Bluck, Eric Peterson and Gerry Wakefield (skip) defeated by K Dixon’s team 15/26.

Longwarry held the lead early, but Drouin played the more consistent bowls for the rest of the game to win by 11 shots.
