The win keeps Neerim District one game clear of Buln in fourth place heading into the final round of the season.

Jindivick grind Warriors

Jindivick (315) def. Western Park (129): Beginning day two of the match requiring just 20 runs for victory, Jindivick easily claimed first innings points against Western Park and then proceeded to grind their opponents into the ground for the remainder of the day – making their way to 315, and a 186-run win.

Mark Robinson (62), Matthew Cheshire (68) and Jarryd Croxford (54*) were the key beneficiaries with the bat in the Jumping Jacks’ big win – with Croxford’s contribution helping compile a 91-run 10th wicket stand that well and truly pushed the Parkers to breaking point.

Stephen Briggs (4-31 from 12) and Angus Emery (2-43 off nine) claimed wickets to boost their confidence but could do little to prevent the hefty loss.

Panthers waste chance

Longwarry (8-168) def. Yarragon (162): Longwarry claimed a tight six-run win over Yarragon in their round 13 clash, with the Panthers wasting a 78-run opening stand between John Malacarne and Brock Glover that had put their side into a winning position.

Chasing 168, Malacarne (42) and Glover (a boundary-laden 49) proved too good for the Longwarry bowlers early in the piece, but their positive intent couldn’t be continued by the remaining batsmen – with a lack of boundaryhitting ability proving costly.

John Buckland tried his level best to hit his side to victory late in the innings, but despite his efforts Yarragon were dismissed off the final ball of the chase for 162.
