Drouin 5/339 def Warragul 10/165 Unbeaten centuries to Drouin’s Jude Fernando and Steve Austen ensured the Hawks ran out big winners over Warragul at the weekend.

Resuming at 1/62 the visitors got away to a steady start with nightwatch­man Kye Osseweyer (21) and Fernando (who began the day on 26) putting on 42 for the second wicket.

Three quick wickets offered the Gulls bowlers some encouragem­ent before stern resistance from Chris Harry (33) saw Drouin pass the target four down.

With the result already decided, Austen joined Fernando for some valuable time in the middle ahead of finals. Working in sync towards a common goal the pair proceeded to put on a 151-run partnershi­p that would seem them record their maiden centuries for the Hawks.

Fernando would end the day on 124 not out while Austen brought up an even 100 in the final over of the day.

On a tough day for the bowlers Daniel Whitten broke through to finish with 2/61.

Jindivick move to second

Jindivick 10/273 def Bunyip 10/269 Jindivick has moved in to second place ahead of Bunyip after a thrilling win over the Bulls at the weekend.

Resuming at 0/41 the Jumping Jacks were left reeling after a fiery opening spell from Ben Sharpe reduced them to 3/49.

Kev Larkman (30) and Rory Payne steadied for the home side and solid knocks from Nick Bagnall (35) and Daryl Bagnall (35) brought the Jumping Jacks within sight of victory.
