Red t shirts and the words ‘We are sick of waiting’ represent the feeling of frustration, concern and in some cases anger and confusion over the lack of action and building of the new West Gippsland Hospital on the greenfield site at Drouin East.

Over the short life of this campaign, the value and appreciation for the hospital at Landsborough Rd has been said many times and it is well known that staff are working in very difficult and demanding conditions.

As such most people, if not all who have spoken to members of the campaign have been very clear on the need for a new hospital at Drouin East.

The communities of West Gippsland watch the housing developments grow, see the additional number of homes taking up what was farmland as well as the increase in housing and hostels for the aged and aging.

This all represents a dramatic increase in the population in all towns and villages in West Gippsland, again impacting on the hospital.

Again, we have an overcrowded hospital in an aged building which demands that a purpose built, modern hospital must be built at Drouin East. This really is a no brainer.

Everyone please look for and sign the petition, write or email to the decision makers in government, The West Gippsland community must be heard by the State Labor Government.
