Western Park win thrilling division four semi final

-

Osseweyer kept Drouin in the hunt despite a parsimonious spell from Sam Laffy (3/26 from 14 overs) that kept the match on an even keel.

The Warriors were able to keep their nerve, with Michael Rabl (2/4 from 4.3 overs) and Sam Fennell (1/5 from four overs) combining to wrap up the tail as the Hawks fell agonisingly short, having lost their final three wickets for just five runs.

Earlier it was Croft who allowed the Warriors to post a competitive target with an unbeaten 95.

Drouin were on top early, as Osseweyer (2/33) and Nicholas Caddy (3/43) combined with the new ball to reduce Western Park to 4/19.

While Croft found some support in Rod Breeden and Kenny Lindsey, Dean Vincent and Jack McConville took wickets at regular intervals to keep Drouin on top.

Croft found a willing ally in Carroll, who scored a patient 19 from 50 balls in a final wicket stand with Croft that realised 75-runs and boosted the Warriors’ total.
