Skills day to prepare for winter season
Preparations for the winter netball season are well underway following completion of the twilight season.
The Warragul District Netball Association will hold a come and try and family evening on Wednesday March 21 with a skills session to be led by Netball Victoria skills coach Amelia Evison.
The WDNA invite existing and new netballers to attend the event, which will include a netball round robin for all ages and free family barbecue.
Registrations will be open for the Saturday winter competition. Clubs Warranor, St Joseph’s, Gulls and Aztecs will take registrations for Net Set Go five to seven years through to open competition.
The winter competition, combined between the Warragul and District and Drouin and District Associations, will commence on Saturday, April 28.
Games alternate between Warragul’s Burke Street courts and Drouin Recreation Reserve.
The combined competition offers competitive games serviced by badged umpires, an inclusive competition catering for all abilities, local games involving limited travel, coaching and umpiring opportunities along with opportunities to join representative teams.
The competition is played in a family friendly environment with fenced playgrounds and canteen.
People are invited to join as a team or an individual player. Registrations close on Friday, April 13.
