Farm World 2018 starts this Thursday

-

Farm World, widely regarded as Victoria’s premier regional agricultural event, attracts more than 55,000 visitors and over 850 exhibitors over four days. The event offers a strong focus on the latest in technology, equipment and information and provides an ideal opportunity to get up close and chat with the experts.

There’s plenty at Farm World for both professional and lifestyle farmers together with urban pioneers interested in equipment, livestock, DIY passions, sustainable gardening and horticulture, drone innovation and masses of must-have tools. What would Farm World be without the livestock! Come and engage with the cattle breeders and check out the different breeds, watch the young Kelpie pups being trained, see the beautiful Alpacas, take a peek at the Equestrian, or get all cute with the jumping dog displays. There is so much more to Farm World!

Demonstrations and presentations are activated throughout the entire event including those attributed to the 2018 theme being Food, Fibre, Future with the Food & Fibre Fiesta. During Saturday and Sunday at Farm World, the Lardner Park Conference Centre is converted into a Food & Fibre Fiesta showcasing produce, products and info sessions in inspiring ways. The Fiesta promises a festive ambience of exhibitor sales, demonstrations and workshops running free-of-charge throughout the weekend.

The Farm World Equestrian Expo returns with Show Jumping, Dressage, an exciting Barrel Racing Shootout, Mounted Games and an all new Saturday night extravaganza featuring some of Australia’s best riders and their most agile horses performing in the raceagainst-the-clock speed jumping championships. Who will be crowned Champion on Saturday night and get to sit on the Champions Throne?

Head on down to the Entertainment Arena for lots of fun and activities including chainsaw carving, whip cracking, live music, dog jumping, pipe band, working dog demonstration, 4WD activations and more. Farm World is the perfect day out for the family with food, beverages, animal nursery, pony rides, face painting, competitions, masses of retail shopping and much more!

Another fantastic new launch at Farm World this year is “Farm World’s Fittest Farmer” competition. This event will be run on Sunday at the Entertainment Arena featuring a series of heats and a grand final conducted by local trainers on the search to find Gippsland’s fittest farmer – will that be you?

The Telstra Women in Ag luncheon is a much-loved and well attended event on Thursday. Brilliant speakers are lined up who will engage, inspire and motivate guests to think outside the box, believe in your abilities and guide you through some of life’s challenges. Come and hear some incredible journeys shared.

A new component of Farm World in 2018 is a dedicated Drone Zone, located adjacent to the Entertainment Arena. The area will feature the latest in drone developments in both technology and practice and showcase how utilisation of drones is such a game-changer for agribusiness (and so many other industries) across the globe.

Farm World is the last weekend of the school holidays (April 12-15) so make it a family outing with plenty to entertain the kids at the Entertainment Arena, the fantastic Animal Nursery and Animals of Oz Show, and this year on the grassed banks in front of the Animal Nursery is a new “Family Rest & Relaxation Area” with Scouts putting on demonstrations and opportunities for kids to engage in knot tying and all the cool things Scouts like to do, new catering outlets, and a whole new area of exhibitor sites for 2018.
