Warragul remain unbeaten

-

Warragul United maintained its unbeaten record in state division one south-east, defeating division newcomer Eltham Redbacks 2-0 at home on Saturday.

Warragul struck twice in the first half, with neither side able to score after the break.

The result saw Warragul hold second spot behind Manningham United, who are also undefeated from three rounds.

Unfortunately United’s Reserves were unable to take the points, going down to Eltham 4-1.

The visitor raced to a 3-1 advantage at the half, and added another goal after the break.

Following a first up win, the Warragul reserves have slipped to 10th.

Warragul United will play Malvern City away this week.

Rowville slammed through five goals in the first half to set up victory.

The Strikers improved in the second half, only conceding one goal.

The Strikers didn’t fare much better, going down 6-1.

Bunyip will look ahead to its clash with Chelsea hoping for their first wins of the season.
