Man arrested for thefts

Baw Baw CIU detectives recovered a quantity of stolen goods including a quad bike after arresting a 44-year-old man in Warragul last Monday.

Bradley Proctor, of no fixed address, was arrested at an Alexander St property in relation to a number of burglaries and thefts in Warragul, Neerim Junction and Clyde North.

He was charged with thefts from motor vehicles, burglary, theft and thefts of cars.

The charges relate to the theft of a car in Clifford St, Warragul and theft of a car in Clyde North.

Following a search warrant at another Warragul property on Wednesday, detectives also recovered a quad bike and quantity of goods stolen from a Neerim Junction property recently.

Mr Proctor was remanded in custody to reappear at Latrobe Valley Magistrate­s’ Court on May 4.

Cash was stolen from two unlocked cars in Warragul last Tuesday night.

Police received two reports of thefts from cars in Melzak Way and Cromie Drv.

In both incidents the vehicles were parked at residentia­l properties and left unlocked.

At Melzak Way, offenders stole a portable DVD player and cash from the glovebox. More than $130 cash also was stolen from the vehicle in Cromie Drv.

Police also are investigat­ing an incident overnight on Friday night when offenders stole four wheels from a Holden Calais station wagon in Burton St.

Police said the vehicle was parked outside the house. CCTV footage has captured two males in the area at about 4.45am on Saturday morning.
