Crows defeat Magpies in battle

Longwarry were comfortabl­e victor over Poowong in the under 16s, 12-8 (80) to 52 (32).

The Crows kicked four goals to one in the first term and worked to a handy 47-point buffer at the final change.

A competitiv­e final term closed it out, with both sides steering through two goals.

Angus Adamiak kicked four goals in a best afield effort, while Liam Quarrell also kicked four majors.

Mitchell Youngman, Aidan Fox, Matthew Kouris, Bailey Osseweyer and Harrison Stephens also helped the Crows set up victory.

Mitch DeKleuver kicked all five goals for the Magpies, while Brian Kelson, Ryan Knight, Reide Macqueen, Hayden Wallis and Caspian Jackman-Riches were also named amongst the better players.

Buln in control

Buln Buln comfortabl­y accounted for Neerim-Neerim South, 9-7 (61) to 4-9 (33).

The Lyrebirds worked to a 50-point lead to have the match in their keeping at the final change.

The Cats put some respectabi­lity back into the scoreboard in the final term, booting three goals as the home side took their foot off the pedal.

Matthew Garner, Jasper Rietmuelle­r, Riley Sherrard, Gaige White, Paisarn White and Tobey May helped the Lyrebirds to a matchwinni­ng lead.

Daly Taylor, Isaac Fuller, Rhonan Perry, Jacob Findlater, Tyler Joachim and Jai Atkins led the effort in an undermanne­d Cats side.

Dusties too good

Warragul Industrial­s proved too good for Ellinbank, winning 12-6 (78) to 3-2 (20).

The Eagles kicked the only goal of the second term, but otherwise struggled to contain the Industrial­s.

Luke Kinder kicked five goals, while Aiden Keady chipped in with four goals. Harrison Perry, Xavier Ford, Lachlan Crook, Damian Baretto, Darcy Whelan and Brayden Hefford were among the better players.

Ellinbank named Jake Dean, Ryan Atherton, Sam Pratt, Will Scammell, Liam Fennell and Josh Williams in their best.
