Draws in state league soccer

Drouin Dragons state teams hosted Aspendale Soccer Club on Saturday afternoon.

After last week’s heavy rain which saw the games postponed, the weather was perfect to be watching a game of soccer at Bellbird Park in Drouin.

Aspendale are a large club in Melbourne with more than 450 registered players compared to the Drouin Dragons which is a third of the size.

The Reserves game was very even between both clubs, which showed with a game end score of a nil all draw.

There were plenty of opportunit­ies however no one could get the ball in the back of the net. The State Reserves remain unbeaten so far this season.

The State Seniors won a hard-fought game against Aspendale with the end score of two goals to one with Chris Davies scoring both goals.

Next week’s game White Star away. is against Dandenong

Warragul draw

Warragul United played out a nil all draw against Malvern City in state league one, with neither side able to break through at Kooyong Park.

The drawn result sees Warragul maintain third position on the ladder behind Manningham United and Richmond.

Warragul United suffered a 2-0 loss in the Reserves, with Malvern City scoring a goal in each half of the match.

Warragul are ninth on the ladder with a record of one win, three losses.

Scores from the matches between Bunyip and Chelsea were not available at time of going to print.
