Fundraising for Cambodia

-

Drouin Secondary College students are again getting organised and fundraising for their volunteering experience in Cambodia at the end of the year.

The last program was at the end of 2016 and succeeded in raising more than $15,000 to build and outfit a library in Koung Tonle Kroum and build a house in Siem Reap.

In 2018, year 10 and 11 students from the College are raising funds again to build and outfit a library with books in the Tbeng Province, outside of Seam Reap, and build a house for a worthy family.

The College uses Vietnam School Tours and Volunteers Building Cambodia as support organisations.

Recently a St. Patricks bingo night was held at the College. The night was well attended by more than 100 staff and parents and raised $3700, a wonderful effort and a great help towards the $15,000 goal.

DOVE will take 21 students for a three-week volunteering experience to Cambodia at the end of November 2018 for three weeks.

Students are raising their own funds to attend the program and have many activities to fundraise for the program’s projects.

Overall the program aims to give students an opportunity to increase their leadership and teamwork capacity and become global citizens helping and understanding other cultures in our multicultural world.

If you or your business are interested in donating to this program, please contact the College.
