Funds to reduce energy

-

The Rawson Caravan Park has received a $9450 grant to help reduce its energy usage.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said the Rawson business had identified potential annual savings of up to $14,000 through an energy assessment of its business.

She said the operators of the Rawson Caravan Park were now working with an experienced energy consultant to further identify potential energy efficiency improvements, review pricing tariffs, and suitable renewable energy options.

The energy assessment grants are open to businesses spending more than $20,000 a year on energy.

The grants are part of the state government’s Boosting Business Productivity Program that supports businesses with three different efficiency grants, a sustainable finance service, training events, and information resources.

Gants have been awarded to more than 60 businesses across Victoria to co-fund energy efficiency assessments.

“Energy assessments are a great opportunity for a business to improve their productivity while also reducing operating costs.”

“This will make a real difference by helping businesses like the Rawson Caravan Park to save on energy bills and reduce waste, and I would urge local businesses throughout Gippsland to apply for an assessment grant of their own,” Ms Shing said.
