Chairo Kinder

-

The educational program at Chairo Christian School’s kindergarten at Drouin East is playbased and open-ended, and therefore presents children with exciting opportunities to explore, question and problem-solve.

Teaching is intentionally based on the interests of the children, ensuring a strong foundation is laid for numeracy, literacy and the arts, and for their social, emotional and physical development.

Woven through the program is a strong biblical framework and worldview. The children are taught how to live in God’s world, as God’s people under God’s rule.

This means that the Bible, especially the life and teaching of Jesus, is foundational, with Jesus’ greatest commandment – to love God and love one another as we would have others love us – being central.

Working in partnership with families is a key part of Chairo’s ethos. Parents are a child’s first educator, so developing an effective parent/teacher partnership is a priority from the very beginning.

Being part of the school community ensures the transition to school for children and parents is smooth. During their time in kindergarten, the children become familiar with the school playgrounds and the other facilities that are available, including library, gymnasium and music room.

Parents develop an understanding of the school culture, administration and expectations, which helps make the transition from kindergarten to school quite seamless for the whole family.

To find out more about Chairo Kinder, interested families are invited to attend the next Open Day on Saturday 23 June, or make contact to book a personal tour at another time.
