Belinda the best for medal

Perfect weather conditions enabled one player to scoop the prize pool in the Warragul women’s monthly medal event.

Belinda Best lived up to her name with 94/27/67 to win the June monthly medal, B grade, the Silver Spoon and also B grade mystery six.

The only prize she missed out on was Grandmothe­r’s Trophy because she is not a grandmothe­r.

Forty-six women played in the stroke event with the winner of A grade being women’s captain Helen Amott with 90/17/73. The runner up was Shirley Todd 91/16/75. The winner of B grade was Belinda Best from Tracey Rabl 96/23/73, while C grade winner was Mary Knersch 110/36/74 from Joyce Pierrehumb­ert 112/37/75.

Down the line balls went to Chris James 101/27/74, Lisa Heggart 98/23/75, Dawn Campbell 98/23/75, Janine Williams 86/10/76, Joy Marriott 89/13/76, Beth Sibson 116/39/77, Anna Boyd 102/25/77, Deb Corstorphi­n 89/12/77, Cecilia Stewart 94/17/77, Jude Kennedy 97/20/77 and Rose Gallagher 95/18/77.

The Grandmothe­r’s Trophy, sponsored by the McAdie family, was won by Tracey Rabl. The best gross score was Janine Williams 86. The nearest the pin on the seventh was Sandra Turner with Jude Kennedy closest on the 15th.

The A grade mystery six winner was Helen Amott, while the putting competitio­n was won by Cecilia Stewart.

The play-off for the May monthly medal was won by Dawn Campbell.

The nine-hole competitio­n was contested by 12 women with the winner Sue Montagnat 28.

Down the line balls went to Rhonda Rhodes and Jean Radings both with 32 and Colleen Pruser 34.

Tomorrow’s event is round two of the captain’s trophy.
