Lynn Jeffs new Cardinia ceo

-

Cardinia Shire Council has appointed a new chief executive officer to take the reins on October 8.

Lynn Jeffs has been appointed for a fiveyear term to replace long-serving CEO Gary McQuillan who announced earlier this year he planned to retire.

Ms Jeffs most recently has been interim ceo and general manager community and economic development at the City of Port Phillip and had previously been general manager of governance and manager of city planning at Latrobe City council.

She has lived in Cardinia shire for four years.

Mayor Collin Ross said Ms Jeffs was an outstanding choice to ensure the council is wellplaced to meet the challenge of delivery quality services and infrastructure in the moist efficient way.

She has extensive experience in local government management and leadership and is committed to community engagement and participation.

Ms Jeffs has a Bachelor of Business, Master of Economics, is a graduate of Harvard University executive program and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

As a wildlife surveyor for threatened species within the central highlands forests, I want to point out that last year the state government's Scientific Advisory Committee ("SAC") found that the Greater Glider is likely to become extinct, with logging as one of the biggest threats to it's survival.
