Big scorelines in Reserves

-

Big wins were the order of the day in the Reserves, with the stronger teams finishing with some big scorelines.

The closest match of the day saw Warragul Industrials prevail over Neerim-Neerim South with a 34-point margin, 8-18 (66) to 5-4 (34).

It was the inaccuracy from the Industrials which kept the Cats in the match, trailing by just 15-points at the final change.

Unfortunately for the Cats, they failed to score in the final term as the Industrials finished a comfortable victory that could have seen a greater final margin.

Luke Hepner was again lively in the forward line, finishing with three goals, while Tom Commadeur, Nelson Minichiello, Kyle Huggett, Damien Mullen and Tim Kubale also helped deliver the result.

Scott Muir, Jason Elliott, Jayden Bell, Reine Slattery, Ryan Muir and Mitchell Diston helped keep the Cats in the contest.

Blues big winners

Catani were big winners over NilmaDarnum, 28-15 (183) to 2-1 (13).

The Blues kicked nine goals to one in the first term and continued to score heavily on the way to the big win.

Lachlan Pratt booted seven goals, while James Williams booted five majors. William Temby, Ben Ahern, Vaughn Campbell and Liam Keily also helped the Blues assert their dominance.

Michael Buzasi, Aaron Maynard, Robert Campbell, Blake Johns, Matt Shorey and Thomas Williamson battled against the odds for the Bombers.

Eagles start strong

Ellinbank set up its comfortable victory over Buln Buln with a strong first half.

The Eagles kicked nine goals to one to effectively have the match in their keeping at half time.

Despite the result being all but a foregone conclusion, an entertaining third term followed where the Eagles scored six goals to four.

The Eagles regained their control in the final term, booting the final three goals of the match to win 18-10 (118) to 5-3 (33).

James Scammell and Ben Drew each finished with three majors, while Jayson Barwick, Kristian Bingham, Michael Pandolfo and Ashley Scott were also prominent.

Andrew Welfare, Tim Stoll, Sean Symes, Tyler Hawker and Matthew Burdett led a competitive third term from the Lyrebirds.

Crows dominate

A dominant second half from Longwarry delivered it a big win over Nyora, 19-18 (132) to 5-7 (37).

Inaccuracy from the Crows restricted the lead to 22-points at the long break, with 14 goals to two from that point giving a better indication of where the two sides are at.

Ryan Wouters booted six goals, while Thomas Hargreaves, Braydon Monroe, Ben McKenna, Mark Light and Shaun Eckhardt also led the charge in the big win.

Joel Anderson booted three goals for Nyora, with Robert Provan, Luke Tagliaferro, Rick Jordan, Nicholas Male and Ben Lineham also among the better players for the Saints.

Magpies in control

Poowong controlled its match against Lang Lang from start to finish, winning 22-10 (142) to 1-4 (10).

The Tigers kicked their first goal in the third term through William Wykes, but by that stage the Magpies had already established a big lead.

Tony Blackwood with five goals, Lachlan Bourne (four) and Chris Wilson (three) were the major scorers, while Tim Francis, Josh Chiavaroli, Glenn Attenborough, Andrew Wallis and Jack Commadeur also helped the Magpies assert their dominance.

Dylan Diehl, Jye Shaw-Remy, Cory Dowson, Tim Elmes and Boadee Bilson were the better players for the Tigers.
