New CFA headquarters

-

The Country Fire Authority is relocating its District 9 headquarters in Warragul from its current location in Normanby St to offices in Mason St.

The district coordination centre will remain at the Normanby St facility.

Fitting out of the new rented office space in Mason St has already started.

A statement issued to The Gazette by CFA headquarters in Melbourne stated the extra accommodation was needed to cater for additional resources including operational recently allocated to District 9.

It said the new arrangements would not impact service delivery.

The new office space would also enable the introduction of new technologies and amenities.

The statement added that the district coordination centre that remains at Normanby St was “fit for purpose” and there would be no reduction in the CFA’s operational capacity or ability to support operations.

The CFA statement described the additional resources and personnel for District 9 as a positive for local communities and fire brigades by boosting capacity and capability to deliver services.

It said there would be no impact on operational staff that have been rostered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for decades to provide support when required. staff
