Finals begin in Mid Gippsland
Mid Gippsland Football League finals will begin with qualifying finals on Saturday and elimination finals on Sunday.
Trafalgar will watch Saturday’s qualifying final at Mirboo North with interest, with the match to determine its opponent for a direct path through to the grand final.
A fierce battle between Yallourn-Yallourn North and Yinnar is expected.
Mirboo North will meet Thorpdale in the elimination final at Boolarra.
Both have displayed patchy form across the season, although the fifth-placed Blues will take confidence from a return to form in recent weeks.
Yinnar and Mirboo North will meet in the Reserves qualifyng final, with top team Yallourn-Yallourn North waiting in the wings.
Newborough and Trafalgar will fight to keep their season alive in the elimination final.
Yinnar and Newborough will meet in the Thirds qualifying final, while YallournYallourn North and Mirboo North will meet in the elimination final.
Trafalgar finished undefeated and have earnt a path straight through to the second semi final. Trafalgar also finished on top in the Fourths. They will wait for the winner of the qualifying final between Hill End and Yinnar.
Boolarra and Yallourn-Yallourn North will battle it out in the elimination final.
