Industrials work hard for win

-

Early inaccuracy forced Warragul Industrials to come from behind in their Reserves match against Catani.

A run of seven behinds in the second term saw the Industrials facing a 14-point deficit at half time.

Two goals to one in the third term bridged the gap before the Industrials finished strongly, restricting the Blues to one behind while kicking three goals to pinch victory, 6-15 (51) to 5-7 (37).

Damien Mullen, Sam Davies, Scott Lindsay, Jai Jose, Jackson Perry and Kyle Huggett ensured the Industrials finished strongly.

Lachlan Pratt kicked three goals, while Drew Campbell, James Williams, Ryan Lowe, Justin Evans, Ryan Williams and Mitchell Gregson also helped the Blues to an early lead.

Crows show depth

Longwarry showed its depth, thumping Lang Lang 25-19 (169) to 1-0 (6).

The Crows kicked seven goals to one in the first term and were never headed, scoring consistently throughout on the way to a big win.

Robert Wind led the way with seven goals, while Anthony Salce, Harley Jones and Glenn Browney each chipped in with three majors in a long list of goal kickers.

Rick Salce, Jonah Serong and Dylan McLaren were also dominant.

Dylan Diehl, Douglas Mastertoun, Mason Koffman, Mark Hunter and Callum Soutar battled against the odds for the Tigers.

Cats win thriller

Neerim-Neerim South took the points over Nilma-Darnum, holding on by three points in a low scoring thriller.

The Bombers took a six-point lead into the final change after keeping the Cats scoreless in the third term.

Scoring just one behind in the final term proved costly, the Cats breaking through for a goal to hold on 4-10 (34) to 3-13 (31).

The Bombers weren’t without their chances, with a return of 1-7 in the third wasting an opportunity to take a match winning lead.

Mathew Churchill, Jason Elliott, Mathew Cumming, Billy Whyte, Gabe Marsden and Kane Woolstencroft helped the Cats stand up under pressure.

Robert Campbell, Jack Jarred, Andrew Campbell, Michael Buzasi, Ben Giles and Riley Sculz ensured the Bombers had the opportunity to win the game.

Eagles win big

Ellinbank were big winners over Nyora, 19-10 (124) to 1-3 (9).

Toby Wallace chipped in with three goals, while Jared Lane, Tony Wright, Jack Pandolfo and Neale Parke were other leaders in the big win.

Tomas Mayo, Rory Gilliatte, Nicholas Male, Jack Ellams, Mitchell Boyd and Ben Lineham were the better players for Nyora.

Magpies take points

Poowong comfortably accounted for Buln Buln, 12-7 (79) to 2-3 (15).

The Magpies kicked four goals to no score in the first term and were never headed.

The Lyrebirds were at their most competitive in the second term, which produced their two goals, but couldn’t stop the home team from running away with it.

Reece Attenborough kicked four goals, while Cody Loughridge, Glenn Attenborough, Oscar Castellas-Cartwright, Steven Bromby, Kyle Aitken and Gavin Notman also helped the Magpies to a strong win.

Jake Herbel, Damen Phillips, Andrew Welfare, Brent Eastwell, Tyler Hawker and Sean Symes did their best to try and lift Buln Buln.
