The Royal Hotel in Drouin has new owners and a whole new look.

Business partners, Renae and Shane have bought both the business and the building and have given both a major facelift in the past three months, with the help of many local tradespeople and local businesses.

Andy Cusden from Cusden Carpentry in Warragul has been in charge of the huge job of bringing this iconic hotel back to life and what a job he and his crew have done!

The bar, bistro, kitchen and function room (now known as The White Room) have all had significant make-overs.

The bar has an appealing rustic look and the bistro has banquet style seating and dining for up to 80 people with country charm and a roaring Coonara fireplace.

Brad “Springa” Thomas is the new licencee/manager of the venue.

Brad is owner Renae’s cousin, he is a local, born and bred in Warragul, therefore giving a “family” and “local’ vibe to the venue.

“Springa” has many local sporting connections and played football for Drouin for many years.

He can’t wait to welcome everyone, old faces and news ones, into his pub.

The Royal Hotel is committed to employing locals and utilising local business products and services whenever possible.

A kitchen garden built by Andy and his crew, will have fresh veggies and herbs and a chook pen, providing the freshest eggs and veggies for the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, head chef Raquel Townsend and her great team can’t wait to showcase their authentic “pub grub” which is sure to impress, with dishes such as organic chicken parma, rib-eye, porterhouse steak, beer battered gummy shark plus lighter meals like Caesar salad and Thai beef salads, just to name a few.

Consider The Royal Hotel for your next function or celebration and book “The White Room” which has its own bar and sparkling new “royal” blue dance floor, beautifully done by Brett Thompson Painting and Decorating, it is sure to impress everyone and has seating for up to 180 people, great views and balcony.

Then book and stay the night in one of the 8 renovated accommodation rooms upstairs (almost complete) with ensuites and balconies.

The Royal is now open and trading 7 days a week with lunch from 11.30-2.30pm, Dinner from 5.30-8pm and the bar is open daily from 11am till late. Bookings for dinner are essential.
