Rural burglaries investigat­ed

Police are investigat­ing a continuing trend of burglaries at rural properties around West Gippsland.

A Suzuki quad bike was stolen from a rural property at Buln Buln last week.

The burglary occurred between 8pm and 4am on Wednesday night.

Police said offenders entered the property in Old Sale Rd and stole the red Suzuki 350cc quad bike.

The occupant believes the theft occurred about 11.30pm when he heard a noise outside but did not go and investigat­e.

Police also are investigat­ing an attempted burglary at a semi-rural property in Cemetery Rd, Trafalgar East on August 12.

The burglary occurred at about 3.15am when offenders gained entry to a large shed and stole a large quantity of power tools.

The stolen tools included Makita drills, grinders, saws, impact drivers and batteries.

Police said it was the second burglary at the property in three months.

In another incident, two male offenders were captured on CCTV footage at a property in Westernpor­t Rd, Ripplebroo­k on August 12.

Police said the attempted burglary occurred between 4pm and 5pm.

The property owner approached the alleged offenders who left in a blue Holden Captiva.

Police are urging rural residents to secure their sheds and properties.
