The annual general meeting was held on Wednesday and the new Warragul women’s golf committee was welcomed into office.

Lorraine Kennedy is continuing as president, with vice president Wilma Henshall. Helen Amott returns as captain for a second year with Janine Williams as vice-captain.

Secretary is Lesley Huggins, treasurer Linda Fowles and committee person Helen Coghlan.

Following the meeting, 36 women took to the course in very windy conditions to participat­e in a 12-hole stableford event with some novelty competitio­ns.

The winner of A grade with 25 points was Helen Amott on a countback from Kay Thompson. Lisa Heggart won B grade with 26 points on a countback from Dawn Campbell. C grade was won by Judy Wilkinson on 27 points from Wendy Wilcox 25 points.

Down the line balls were awarded to Chris Thomas 25, Shirley Todd, Kaye Rollinson, Wendy Brown, Anna Boyd, Maureen Kittelty, Barb Davidson and Molly Answerth all on 23 points.

Most accurate drive on the first went to Lorraine Kennedy while Penny Scott was the closest on the 10th.

Longest drives were awarded to Helen Amott (A grade), Marie Veitch (B grade) and Wendy Wilcox (C grade).

Dawn Campbell was nearest the pin on the 15th.

Tomorrow’s event is a favorite event among members, being par.
