Teams come to play in final

All six teams came out ready to play in a last ditch attempt to secure their spot in next week’s grand final.

Teams were on edge as they awaited the final siren, bringing them one step closer to finishing on top this season.

The grand finals will be played at Garfield on Sunday.

For more details check the WDJFL website and Facebook page. Under 10s Caldermead­e v Garfield In sunny and mild conditions at Hallora for the preliminar­y final, both teams came out fighting hard for the ball.

Great marking and tackling by both teams saw the score kept to a minimum.

Caldermead­e had the lead as both teams headed into the final quarter. Garfield replied with two quick goals. Caldermead­e held on for the win to head into their first ever grand final next week. Under 12s The Bulls v Drouin Gold It was a beautiful morning for football and Hallora’s ground in ship shape condition.

It was a great contest from The Bulls who came out strong from the get go to take a handy lead.

Drouin Gold couldn’t find their feet and struggled to keep up with the pressure on the day. Bulls player Ben Fort played his 100th game. Under 14s Drouin Gold v Warragul Blues Great conditions at Hallora kicked off the under 14 final.

It was a tough contest from the start with Gold getting the goals on the board.

Blues fought back hard and in a tight finish the Blues were able to kick a few crucial goals and held on for the win.

Drouin Gold’s Bill Gibbons played his 100th game.

Grand finals on Sunday

The Warragul District Junior Football League season will draw to a close with grand finals to be played at Garfield on Sunday. Draw: 10am: Under 10s - The Bulls v Caldermead­e. 11.15am: Under 12s - Warragul Blues v The Bulls.

12.30pm: Under 14s - Warranor v Warragul Blues.
