West Gippsland Performing Arts Competition
The 25th annual eisteddfod was conducted at several venues across West Gippsland from July 20 to August 17.
The Gippsland Parasteddfod will be held on Thursday, September 20.
The first place recipients across the eight disciplines were:
10 years and under: own choice solo - Maisie Wilksch, Pakenham; song in costume solo Meaghan Wilksch, Pakenham.
11 years and under 13 years: Gippsland vocal solo - Lily Tambassis, Warragul.
12 years and under: own choice solo Keturah Ratnarajah, Berwick; song in costume solo - Keturah Ratnarajah, Berwick.
15 years and under: own choice solo Annabelle Rajasingham, Warragul; folk song or ballad solo - Emily Morrison, Warragul; song in costume solo - Ashlee Jennings, Traralgon East; Gippsland classical vocal award solo Emily Morrison, Warragul.
18 years and under: own choice duet/trio or quartet: Maisie Wilksch and Meaghan Wilksch, Pakenham; own choice solo - Maia-Lys Hanrahan, Launching Place; song in costume solo - Christina Keen, Cockatoo.
Open: folk song, ballad or spiritual solo Amelia Wawrzon, Moonee Ponds; German Lied or art song solo - James Emerson, Essendon; song in costume solo - John Molden, Rosedale; own choice solo - Teresa Ingrilli, Alphington; own choice duet/trio or quartet - Christina O'Connell and John Molden, Rosedale; Aria Award solo – James Emerson, Essendon.
18 to 26 years inclusive: classical vocal scholarship solo - Amelia Wawrzon, Moonee Ponds and James Emerson, Essendon.
