Gippsland Jersey took on an international flavour on Wednesday when it hosted a group of Asian buyers and decision makers.
The delegation visited Gippsland Jersey’s Jindivick property as part of Trade Victoria’s “Food and Beverage Trade Week” held from Tuesday to Thursday last week.
Gippsland Jersey was in the spotlight as a feature dairy producer during the first day of the trade week, where producers showcased their products to international buyers and provide samples to gain valuable consumer feedback.
The trade week expo featured dairy, processed feeds, non-alcoholic beverages, horticulture, meat and grains.
For international buyers, Food and Beverage Trade Week offered access to a personalised and tailored service for providing new product opportunities in Victoria’s food and fibre industry.
On Wednesday, 15 major international buyers and decision makers from Asia visited Gippsland Jersey to tour the facility, meet the business owners and look at potential trade and investment opportunities.
With China’s dairy market poised to become the world’s largest by 2022, and other Asian counties following hot on their heels, this provided an opportunity for the delegates to view the Gippsland Jersey farm and facility to see first-hand where the milk is produced.
The event is an invitation-only international food trade that connects local Victorian producers to global business and industry.
