Expo for children

-

Baw Baw Shire Council is gearing up preparations for the annual Children’s Week Expo, promising local service information for parents and fun activities for the children.

The expo will run from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday October 23 at Council’s Family and Children’s Services building at 144 Normanby Street in Warragul, with free entry.

Baw Baw Shire mayor Joe Gauci encouraged residents with young children to come along and find out about children’s activities and services available across Baw Baw Shire.

“The Children’s Expo is a great day out for all with lots of information sharing, all while the kids have fun and play”, he said.

“Council staff will be on hand from kindergarten, Family Day Care and Maternal and Child Health teams to answer any questions about their service areas.

“Parents will have access to information about immunisation sessions, key ages and stages to Maternal and Child Health visits.

“There will also be loads of child-friendly activities on the day including face painting, craft activities, story time with West Gippsland Libraries, community gardening and outdoor games.”

The expo will be held in the outdoor play area (weather permitting), so parents are encouraged to bring sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle.

Additional parking will be available off Cambridge Drive.

This Children’s Week Expo is presented by Baw Baw Shire Council and supported by the Federal government’s Department of Education and Training.
