Follow the signs to Lardner Park on Saturday and Sunday to the Gippsland Garden and Home Expo for 2018, with gates open from 9am to 4pm each day.

Lions Club of Drouin president Erika Wassenberg said the club were proud to present the annual event for its 18th year. The club have been able to distribute more than $550,000.00 back into the community and surrounding areas over these years.

“We are once again looking forward to giving our community a fantastic event,” Ms Wassenberg said.

“We will have something for everyone making this a wonderful weekend for Garden and Home enthusiasts.

“You can be assured that this is a great day for the whole family.”

The Expo is now established and is the second largest of its kind in Victoria, bringing thousands of visitors to the area from far and wide. Buses come from all over Victoria, bringing garden and home fanatics for a great day out.

Gippsland and Lardner Park are now on the map as having one of the most exciting places to visit on the second weekend in October each year.

The main catering onsite is done by many other community groups including other Lions Clubs, Apex, Primary and Secondary Schools, who all get the ability to fundraise over the weekend to distribute back to their own communities and schools.

“It is great to know that we are helping all these groups in raising funds, as well as putting on a such a huge Event that our community looks forward to each year,” Ms Wassenberg said.

“There will be lots of entertainment and free children`s activities again this year.”

The Garden section of the Expo displays beautiful plants from general and specialist nurseries and include many unusual and rare species. Attendees will be able to get anything from large trees to seedlings.

“You can easily find all you need at the Garden and Home Expo to make your idea`s a reality,” Ms Wassenberg said.

“There are more than 150 exhibits, with nurseries displaying all manner of garden features, products, equipment and machinery, shade and hot houses, mowers, pots, safety wear, outdoor furniture, water tanks, chemicals, rock paving and walls, landscaping, garden furniture, earth moving equipment, tradespeople and more.

“There are many exhibitors just waiting to help and discuss any gardening issues you may have.

“Previous years have seen many keen gardeners arrive at Lardner Park with their trailer in tow.”

The Home Pavilion is a must to walk through. The pavilion has many exhibits with a full range of information and building needs and finance.

There are products such as screens, security doors, kitchens, indoor and outdoor furniture, decor, vacuums, bedding, blinds, plumbing supplies, gutter protection, bedding, woolen quilts, windows, home wares with lots more.

There will be almost everything needed to decorate, renovate or build your home. The Home Show exhibitors are more than happy to talk or come out to measure and quote on anything you may need.

Ms Wassenberg said the Lions Club of Drouin wouldn’t be able to run the event without the support of its sponsors.

“A huge thank you goes out to Drouin and District Community Bank for once again being there for us and supporting this year`s guest speaker for the event, Melissa King.

“Over the years there have been some fantastic guest speakers some of whom included Kevin Heinze, Wes Flemming, Andrew Laidlaw, Jane Edmanson and Visili Kanidiadis, and Tino Carnevale.”

Other Sponsors for the Expo this year include Drouin Home Hardware, The Moorings Metung, Graeme Arthurson Real Estate, 5 Oceans Travel, Warragul Screens and Glass, Drouin Cycles, and Erika McInerney Social Media Trainer/Marketing Consultant.

“Drouin Lions thank them all for their outstanding support in bringing this event to you,” Ms Wassenberg said.
