Lauri Stewart is a lawyer and registered migration agent with more than ten years’ experience in the areas of immigration, citizenship, administrative, constitutional, refugee, and human rights law. Raised and educated in Warragul and Drouin, she has recently returned to the area to be closer to extended family. Having worked in both the private and nonprofit sectors in Melbourne, Lauri has represented clients at all levels of the immigration process: lodging at the Department; appearing before Tribunals; and instructing in the federal Courts and High Court of Australia. It is this wealth of expertise that she brings “home” to West Gippsland. Living in the country we often have to travel to obtain the best services, and with that comes “city prices”. Stewart Administrative & Migration Lawyers aims to provide the highest quality legal advice and assistance to the people of Gippsland, in Gippsland, without the high price tag. Lauri also practices in general administrative law, including challenging Council or other official decisions, assisting people prepare for Tribunals or professional disciplinary proceedings, obtaining Working with Children Checks or police clearances; Freedom of Information; negotiation / mediation; and not-for-profit law. For the past six years, Lauri has been providing training to both lawyers and non-lawyers, adults and school children, in the areas of immigration, refugee law, citizenship, administrative law and ethics; and this is something that she hopes to continue to provide for local lawyers, schools and community groups.
