Wednesday saw persistent drizzly rain making conditions a little more trying for the 68 players playing a par event. Matt Roberts was the best of A grade scoring a brilliant +6, while John Gardiner wasn’t far behind with +5 to be the victor in B grade.

Women

Drouin women played a stroke event on Tuesday. Results: A grade: 1st Shirley Roberts net 68, 2nd Kay Feaver 71; B grade: 1st Megan Ford 71, 2nd Marion Devlin 74; DTL: Bernice Miller 74, Vanessa Campbell 74, Ann Roberts 75, Monica Gidley 76cb; NTP: 5th Glenda Warren, 8th was Shirley Roberts, 10th Meagan Ford. No one won the pro pin. Coming events are the Drougal Cup played against the Warragul Golf Club at Drouin on November 27. The Christmas lunch is on December 4 followed by the club’s charity golf day at Drouin on December 7.

Seniors

A pleasant morning encouraged a good field of Drouin seniors to contest their nine-hole event on Thursday.

It was a joint win in the women’s division with Catriona Ferguson and Dagmar Forbes each scoring 17 points.

The runners up were Helen Moon, Di Baskett and Jan Stone with16 points, followed by Mildred Lyon, Ann Roberts, Megan Ford, Kay Grieve and Audrey Smethurst with 15 points.

In the men’s division, the winner was Peter Downward with 18 points.

The runner up was Peter Britchford with 17 points, followed by Graham Moon and Tex Devlin with 16 points, Gilbert Davis and Barry Baskett with 15 points and Kevin O’Brien with 14 points. with the second round of the 2018 club championsh­ips.
