Garfield-Tynong 7/164 defeated Hallora 67 and 2/93

Garfield-Tynong has completed an easy victory over Hallora in a rather tame second day at the Titans’ home ground.

With just three to be added for victory for the Titans, Josh Horsburgh fell early to Aidan Phillips (2-43) however Tate Burgmann (64*) and Brayden Ridler (27) pushed on as Hallora seemingly wilted.

Apart from Tom Kent (4-55), none of the young Hallora attack could contain the pair, as boundaries came with ease the innings eventually being declared on 7-164 with a Titan lead of 97.

With 41 overs to play and an outright victory in mind, captain Steve Fox (57*) put this to bed early as he shared a stoic stand with Chris Diston (15), pushing the score to 47.

Two quick wickets of Diston and Phillips (0) gave Garfield-Tynong a spark, however Fox and Jai Newcombe (17*) batted out the remaining overs and closed the day on 2-93 in a much more positive performanc­e to last week.

Warriors win easily

Western Park 7/150 defeated Ellinbank 71 Western Park easily accounted for Ellinbank, however the Eagles fought hard early in the day.

Resuming on 1-11 chasing 71, Peter Croft was removed early by Lachie Pyle (2-22) before Adam Feltham (31) and Luke Gilbert (46) batted the Warriors to relative safety.

Jack Pandolfo (2-18) managed to take two quick wickets with the score on 61 to give hope for a miracle, however former GarfieldTy­nong batsmen Michael Modaffari (41*) showed his class to guide Western Park well and truly away from trouble.

Lachie Pratt (2-12) managed to take two consolatio­n wickets at the end, however both teams called it quits as the Warriors closed their innings 20 overs short on 7-150.
