Division 3

- By Joel Batson

Buln Buln 69 and 4/212dec defeated Yarragon 51 and 68

After being bowled out for just 69 in their first innings, Buln Buln has completed an incredible outright victory over Yarragon.

With a lead of 18 heading into the second day, Buln were found to be in relative trouble early as Paul Harvey (2-27) removed the dangerous duo of James Fowler and Harry Wans early.

However this was the only highlight of the innings for the Panthers as Corey Jagoe (122*) and Brayden Fowler (55) showed why they are several classes above, walloping the ball to all parts in a display filled with carnage.

The pair added 124 before the wicket of Fowler, before Jagoe and Jack Symes (18*) kicked on to declare at tea with a huge score of 4-212.

Fancying a crack at a shell-shocked Yarragon outfit, Jagoe (4-7) and James Fowler decimated the Panther batting lineup.

Fowler in particular caused things to happen, taking a hat-trick to make the Lyrebird’s truly believe, before his brother Patty wrapped things up with two wickets of his own as Yarragon crumbled to 68 all out in one of the strangest games you will ever see.

Stags overcome nerves

Neerim District 159 defeated Western Park 104

Neerim District have their middle order to thank for victory, overcoming a nervy situation to defeat Western Park at home.

Resuming with 45 required and six wickets in hand, Brad Fusinato (45) and Brett Bransgrove (38) attacked the Warriors bowlers’ finishing the job early in the day to take any nerves felt throughout the week out of the equation.
