Weather clears for Triathlon

-

The wind and rain partially cleared Saturday afternoon with some blue in the skies for the weekly Wild Dog Triathlon held at Burke St precinct in Warragul.

The seniors event had yet another great turn out, with the event continuing to attract several new comers.

Some seniors took on the challenge of increasing their event length, or improving on their event times.

For the more competitive WDTC members, the event adds to their training heading towards the Geelong Ironman event in February 2019.

The first male over the line in the long event was Gary Oslon with Heidi Gratton the first female.

In the short event Mathew Buckland and Ash Distan took out first places.

The juniors event had reduced numbers this week, which was to be expected due to the cooler conditions, but enthusiasm remained high.

Even the juniors were keen to challenge themselves with Andrew Thompson increasing laps, and the WDTC welcoming new tri racer Jaiden Martin. Junior results: Six-laps: Tahlia Langelaan 28.40, Isabel Oswald 31.57: Five-laps: Zara McNair 25.14: Andrew Thompson 25.28: Four-laps: Jacob Langelaan 20.27: Three-laps: Troy Oswald 18.12: Two-laps: Oscar Williams 15.09, Jaiden Martin 15.06: One lap: Blake Langelaan 10.33

WDTC junior 5-12 years races commence at 4.30pm and senior at 5pm on Saturday with race dates published on WDTC website.

Early arrival is necessary for registration and briefing, with various races lengths to suit all levels.

Assistance with set up and marshalling is always welcome on the day.

Wild Dog Triathlon Club welcomes previous and new members with all information on events, membership and race details located on facebook or visit the website www.wilddogtriclub.org.au.
