Division 2

- By Joel Batson

Garfield-Tynong 4/194 def by Longwarry 8/202 Longwarry pulled off one of the greatest victories imaginable away from home at Tynong at the weekend as Shaun Eckhardt’s ballistic knock pulled the match out of the fire.

Losing the toss and bowling first, Longwarry were seemingly out of the contest early as the Titans raced to 1-140 with the only wicket being Pete Davidson run out for 27.

Brayden Ridler (60) and AK Tyrone (42) continued their sensational form against a struggling Longwarry attack.

Cole Cook (3-24) was the only wicket-taker for the Crows as he pegged back the Titans batsmen, restricting the likes of Paul Tribe (26*) and Tate Burgmann (20*) at the end as Garfield-Tynong made 4-194 off their allotted overs.

The Crows then started poorly with the willow as Pete Davidson and APK Rangajith took two wickets each to put the batting side in desperate need of a hero at 6-79.

Enter Eckhardt, the keeper smashing an unbelievable knock that included belting some of the Titans best bowlers around the park on his way to 81 not out.

And with contributions from Austin Van Strijp (22*) and Cook (20) the Crows managed to make 8-202 off their overs and celebrate a memorable chase.

Batsmen dominate

Warragul 6/180 def by Western Park 2/248 Western Park accounted for Warragul on a day where batsmen dominated at Eastern Park.

Batting first, Dale Fawcett (25) got the Warriors off to a brisk start before Jack Barnes (39) and the in-form Adam Feltham managed to push the score to 134 as the young Warragul attack wilted in the heat.

Once Barnes was dismissed, Michael Modaffari came to the crease and ensured the last 15 overs would involve some old-fashioned leather chasing, as the deadly duo of Modaffari and Feltham sent the ball to al parts.

Both looked in top shape in their push for the top-run scorer in the division as the pair added 114 in no time, Feltham finishing on a terrific 92* against his former side while Modaffari sent four over the rope on his way to 74*, with his average skyrocketing to north of 150.

Western Park finished on 2-248 as Warragul,
