Western Park 2/185 def Yarragon 7/156 Western Park comfortabl­e accounted for Yarragon at the weekend despite a ferocious onslaught from John Allsop.

Batting first, the Warriors only lost two wickets as they made a big total of 2-185 off their allotted overs.

Sam Cheeseman (53) returned to the form he is capable of while Travis Maher (79*) showed his undoubted class with a brilliant captain’s knock.

In reply Stephen Briggs (4-11) continued his terrific form with the ball, his in-swingers doing the trick as Yarragon collapsed to 7-66.

John Allsop (92*) decided it was time to send sixes over the fence, hitting six of them as he combined with Liam Smith-Butterwort­h to put on 80 for the eighth wicket as Yarragon made 7-156 to take a little bit of shine off the victory for the Parkers.

Buln rattle Neerim

Neerim District 7/145 def by Buln Buln 6/178 Despite being 3-11 early, Buln Buln has won comfortabl­y over Neerim.

Heath Darcy (2-29) and Cam Law (2-9) made the early breakthrou­ghs for Neerim, however nothing else went right as Ben O’Neill (54*) and Jack Symes (44) rapidly increased the scoring rate.

With help from Reece Campbell (24) in the form of an anchoring innings, the Lyrebirds made 6-178.

In reply Sam Reid (3-18) struck early to leave the Stags 4-27 and they never were in the match.

A late fighting 38* from Davin George pushed the score to a respectabl­e 7-145 as Buln won easily by 33 runs.
