B grade’s winner was John Wolswinkel, who tallied up an excellent +3, while Colin Hunt was the victor in C grade with a nice score of +3.

On Sunday the club had four men’s pennant teams competing.

It was another tough day, with the scratch 1 side being the only victor on the day.

Wednesday will be stableford, with Saturday being stroke and the second round of the club championsh­ips.

Women

Drouin and Garfield women have been playing an annual challenge for many years. Last week was Drouin’s turn to host Garfield. The weather was atrocious. It was wet, windy and cold, so quite a few couldn’t cope with the misery of being so very wet and cold so came in early. The winner for this year was Drouin. The A grade winner was Bernie Clarke with 39 and the runner up was Sharon Ryan with 32.

The B grade winner was Meaghan Ford with 31 and the runner up was Anne Roberts on countback with 30.

The C grade winner was Marg Mitcham with 34 and the runner up was Val Crow with 33.

The D grade winner was Marg Murray on 25 and the runner up was Olga Pearson with 24.

Down the line balls went to Kay Feaver 31, Hilary Hockey 30, Jeanette Phillips 29, Dagmar Forbes 29, Mary Tymensen 28, Di Norton 28.

NTP: 5th Di Norton, 8th Chris Caig, 10th Kay Dumbleton, 14th Judy Bibby.

This week’s event is the women’s presidents day.

Seniors

It was another pleasant morning for the Drouin senior’s nine-hole event on Thursday.

The winner in the women’s division was Fay Downward with 17 points.

The runners up were Ethel Manley, Ann Neilson, and Helen Moon with 15 points, followed by Deb Daniel, Catriona Ferguson and Megan Ford with 14 points and Mildred Lyon, Marg Murray, Dagmar Forbes and Jeanette Phillips with 13 points.

In the men’s division the winner was Graeme Alexander with 21 points.

The runner up was Ian Hemphill with 20 points, followed by Peter Downward and Phil Edwards with 16 points.
