Kerry O’Keefe at Neerim

Kerry O’Keefe will be guest speaker at Neerim District Cricket Club’s sportsman’s night on Saturday.

Kerry’s love of life and passion for sport has seen the former Test cricketer enjoy a successful media career.

He was the ABC Test cricket special comments man for 14 years and is currently a Fox Sports cricket broadcaste­r well known for his insights and knowledge of the game. He is also a best-selling author and appears regularly on the Foxtel Sports show, The Back Page.

O’Keefe’s career included 24 Tests for Australia with a batting average of 25.86. He never quite lived up to expectatio­ns as Australia’s next best leg spinner, collecting 53 wickets at an average of 38.07.

Two one-day internatio­nals netted 16 runs and two wickets.

Kerry’s presentati­on is littered with great yarns and his quirky observatio­ns on cricket and life.

The Neerim District Cricket Club sportsman’s night will be held at Neerim South’s Algie Hall, 213 Main Neerim Rd, Neerim South. Doors open at 6pm with two-course meal from 6.30pm.

Kerry O’Keefe’s presentati­on will begin at 7.30pm.

Enjoy a two-course meal, live entertainm­ent, music, yearly major raffle draw and drinks at bar prices.

The NDCC is a not for profit sporting club and any funds raised will be used to increase active participat­ion of cricket within the community.
