Western Park v Garfield-Tynong 8/228 A return to form from Tate Burgmann has helped Garfield-Tynong post an imposing total against Western Park.

Striding to the crease with the score at 3/21, things didn’t get much better when Josh Horsburgh fell to leave the Titans staring down the barrell of a low score at 4/35.

With some lower order support from Matthew Maxwell, Chad McKie (26) and Grant Pearson (39), Burgmann blasted 13 boundaries in an unbeaten 108 to ensure the Titans would head into the second day on top.

Dave Burn put the pressure on early with two wickets, while Jason Batson toiled for 3/67 from 18 overs as the Warriors did their best to try and contain Burgmann.

Iona take points

Drouin 111 v Iona 4/134 Iona have already collected first innings points in their match against Drouin.

Only Rhys Fairlie (38) showd any resistance as the Swamp Tigers tore through the Hawks’ top order.

Some lower order resistance from Charlie Wans (17*) and Logan Starc (15) helped Drouin reach 111, but the total was never going to be enough.

Wade Haysom only had a short spell to collect 5/52 from 15.3 overs.

Jarryd Bain was the other multiple wicket taker while Kieran Lenders was miserly with 1/4 from four overs.

Despite losing Michael Neilson and Lenders early, Iona had little trouble in knocking off the required total before stumps.

Jed Saik led the charge with 51, dominating a partnership of 61 with Michael Taylor.

Taylor and Luke Ferguson continued where Saik left off, Taylor falling late in the day before
