The penultimat­e round of the regular season proved to be a virtual run fest at the weekend with Hallora and Longwarry posting three hundred plus totals in their respective clashes.

Iona has a less intimidati­ng chase ahead of them while Jindivick Black will take the opportunit­y to recharge ahead of the finals after Ellinbank forfeited in their clash.

Ominous signs for Crows

Longwarry 8/344 (cc) vs Warragul There were ominous signs for the rest of the competitio­n after Longwarry put the Warragul bowlers to the sword at the weekend.

Having sent the home side in the Gulls were on top early in the clash reducing the Crows to 3/41 before a game changing partnershi­p that saw the momentum swing in Longwarry’s favour.

Both in only their second innings of the season, Jordan Kingi and Ben Majcherzak teamed up to put on 128 for the fourth wicket before Majcherzak was dismissed for a blistering 82.

With a firm foundation set Gary Kear joined Kingi in a further 122-run stand that saw the total swell out to 6/296.

Kear (52) was the man to go after recording his fourth half-century of the season.

Kingi (110) eventually retired hurt after a marathon innings that saw him reach his maiden century late in the day.

Jackson Clerks toiled hard for the visitors delivering 16 overs to finish with 2/46.

Daniel Perrett (who claimed the big scalp of Majcherzak) chimed in with 2/42.
