Share responsibility for road safety

Following my involvement in a serious collision at Parkers Rd, Cloverlea on October 20 2018, I would like to convey my appreciation to Baw Baw Shire mayor Mikaela Power and the team at the shire who listened to community submissions and have worked hard to improve the conditions and visibility at this intersection with signage, rumble strips and tree clearing.

To my fellow road users, we all have a responsibility to be vigilant, especially on our country roads - heed the messages of the TAC and police, observe the road rules, consider the conditions and your capacity. We all have a part to play in working to achieve the goal of towards zero. Elly Martin. Cloverlea

It is also disappointing that local consultation did not occur to inform neighbours of the impacts associated with this building, despite the fact that it conforms to the guidelines of the planning zone. The modern world may consist of interested people who read, observe, question, and research, such as myself and Roger, but the generation of my children and grandchildren is not turning to the “sit tight and do nothing" values of Mr. Marks, but to those with the hard earned qualifications and knowledge. They cannot afford not to. So when Mr. Marks decries my views and others who may oppose his own, it is facile to claim a “personal attack", and then base the same offering on just that.

Perhaps next time, Roger, you could keep my name out of the first line, and avoid looking like a hypocrite.

Simply, Mr Marks claims expertise where he has none, with typically outrageous hyperbole. On multiple occasions in the past he has been proven wrong, e.g. the Iraq war and same sex marriage, but always lacks the integrity to acknowledge it . John Duck, Trafalgar

The Rock Star shrinking glacier of all global warming alarmists, has been reported as that over the last two years to have regained all the ice it lost in the two years prior .

Not strange is how this coincided within the average global temperature being below the last 100 year average during the last two years and this year’s record below average in the current northern hemisphere winter .

How could any person of average or claim to be above average intelligence believe the Al Gore's and Flim Flameries of this world when common sense and clear thinking is freely available via the internet.
