Acrobatic mayhem in all ages show

A non-stop spectacle of acrobatic mayhem for audiences of all ages will be had when Circus Oz presents “Precarious” at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Friday, May 10.

Circus Oz will present a shortened one-hour version at 11am followed by a full-length show at 7.30pm.

“Precarious” is inspired by our natural surroundin­gs and the pressing issues arising from modern day living.

Circus Oz unearths innovative circus acts as the ensemble pushes beyond acrobatics to create an exciting three-dimensiona­l world that examines the fragility existing between humanity and nature.

“Precarious” unfolds through an ingenuous maze of phenomenal acrobatics, spectacula­r aerials, live music and physical comedy. The unique skills and talents of the Circus Oz ensemble include extraordin­ary foot juggling, jaw-dropping aerial rope and tippy ring, mesmerizin­g roué cyr, Chinese pole, and hula hoop, all hilariousl­y woven with original music from the Circus Oz live band.

Tickets to the 11am show are $27 for adults, $24 for concession, $23 for members, $15 for under 18s and groups and $65 for a family of four. Tickets to the 7.30pm show are $45 for adults, $42 for concession, $40 for members and groups, $20 for under 18s and $100 for a family

First Tuesday

Off the Leash Theatre will hold its next “First Tuesday” play reading at Warragul For bookings or further informatio­n, contact Community House on Tuesday, May 7.

The play reading will begin at 7pm and is being kept a surprise. "First Tuesday" is a monthly event designed to assist writers who are developing performanc­e works as well as for people who enjoy simply listening to well known and unknown 5624 plays. 2456 or visit wgac.com.au.

Gruffalo fun

Only limited tickets remain for children’s show “The Gruffalo” at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Tuesday, May 7.

The 10am is all but sold out, and only a few seats remain for the 12noon show.

Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in this magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party mad Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there?

The show offers songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged three and above along with their grown-ups.

“The Gruffalo” is returning to Australia after sell-out seasons across the world, including London’s West End and Broadway.
