Thumping win for Nilma Darnum

Nilma Darnum will be hoping they have turned the tide in season 2019 after thumping Lang Lang by 91 points on the weekend.

The Tigers were scoreless in the first term, managed a behind in the second and remained scoreless in the third before digging deep and ending the day with 2-3 at the final siren.

Samuel Neil kicked Lang Lang’s solitary goal and Ronald Smith, Bailey Williams, Mason Koffman, Hunter Clarke also made solid contributi­ons.

Korey Carrison kicked an astonishin­g eight goals for the Bombers, Harrison Moore kicked three and Jordyn Hanssen-De Kort kicked two. Shaun Custance, Brandon Peters and Riley Wakefeild managed a goal each. Blake Cann was best on ground with Luke Rasmussen, Ethan Ross and Harley Nicklen-Rose also making big contributi­ons.

Buln Buln saw the 2019 form of Longwarry up close and personal when they lost 31 to 69 at home.

The Crows and the Lyrebirds both maintained their ladder positions. Longwarry stayed on top and Buln Buln continue to round out the top four.

Flynn O’Reilly was best on for Buln Buln. Bailey Stephens was best on for Longwarry. Jack Storey, Eamon Brew, Jacob Blackstock, Alex Hasan and Adam Clynes all did their bit for the Lyrebirds. Angus Adamiak, Tyson Murray, Jonah Serong, Geordie Wells and Aidan Fox were big contributo­rs for the Crows.

Poowong started their away clash against Neerim Neerim South with seven points in the first term, seven in the second term and seven in the third term but their scoresheet did not add up they way they would have liked come the final siren, in the end losing 40 to 86.

Heath Darcy did his bit for the home side, kicking four majors. Josh Swain and Isaac Fuller managed two goals each. Kyle Bright was best on ground and his was backed up by the efforts of Lachlan Smith and Will Ladds. Jai Derrick was best on ground for the visitors and he was backed up by Darcy Burgess, Hayden Wallis, Darcy Loughridge, Brian Kelson and Kyle Loveridge.

Nyora had a fairly one-sided game against Ellinbank. 2-4-22 to Ellinbank’s 8.18.66 was the final scoreline. Ellinbank defenders kept the Saints without a score in the second and final terms.

Ben Lineham, Jay Clark, Jack Felton, Christian White and Blake Boyd all had good games for the Saints. Charlie Preston was best on ground. Matthew Garvey was the Eagles' best man. He was backed up by efforts from Lewis Kennedy, Callum Auldist, Nicholas Matheson, Bryce Joyce and Corey Garlick, including three goals from Mathew Bow.
