Credit for Colours: a new clothing buy-back project

-

Warragul’s kids boutique, The Colours are Brighter is proud to announce a new clothing buy-back project called Credit for Colours.

Owner Michelle Cann explains, “every 10 minutes, approximately 6 tonnes of clothing goes into Australian landfills. The challenge to counter this growing waste seems insurmountable. And in a small way our little store is part of a big global problem.

“We have faith in the brands we sell and are happy to see them again. To help encourage reduction, reuse, repair and re-wear, we are going to buy back the clothes we’ve sold you. Trying to make a difference when and where we can is something we all can do. This project is our something.”

The Credit for Colours project encourages customers to bring back any outgrown or excess clothing from brands stocked at The Colours are Brighter.

In return, customers will receive a store credit towards their next purchase.

Previously loved clothes returned through the project will be resold in-store at an accessible price so they can be loved and reworn again.

“It makes sense that purchasing less, purchasing natural fibres which will break down over time, and handing down well made quality clothes so they can be worn again and again and again helps break the cycle of waste,” Michelle continues, “we know that our clothes are built to last, and we think this initiative will allow our little articles to live their lives to the full!”

The Colours are Brighter is located at 34 Smith St, Warragul. Phone 0428 229 782.

From tiny tot, to teenager, through to adulthood, we all need to eat our fruit and vegetables daily.

Children particularly need to eat fresh fruit and vegetables as they:

Contain many vitamins and minerals that are essential for healthy bone and cell development

Play an important part in supporting the energy levels required for active minds and healthy bodies

Provide lots of “roughage" which helps the digestive system

Help with maintenance of healthy body weight

Help to support the immune system and protect against disease

Here you will find great recipes that have been developed to suit children's taste buds. Kids under parental guidance can prepare many of these recipes. You will also find tips to encourage kids to enjoy fruit and vegetables as well as suggestions for quick snacks.
