The April Meeting was held on April 24, the first meeting with the new committee. President Bob Davidson inducted two new members and presented an O.B.E. to a long serving woman.

Guest speaker was Natasha Vorogushin talking about “The Amazing World of Mushrooms”. Natasha had interestin­g informatio­n to pass on with regard to edible mushrooms and the others that are poisonous. Surprising­ly, there are many more that are edible, but they need special cooking practices. She also had a number of specimens on show.

Early in April over 50 rally enthusiast­s gathered to receive instructio­ns , rules, etc for another car rally.

Thirteen teams of four participat­ed and set off on stage one, taking in Nilma, Bona Vista, Lardner and Hallora. The next check point was Loch and then the final stage was a short drive into Poowong township followed by lunch.

Judging turned out to be a difficult task with close final scores. Jan MacLean’s team won first prize, Linda Smith’s team was second and Bob Veitch’s team beat the De Corrado team into third place.

The April Evening Dine Out was held at the Royal Hotel in Drouin and the Lunchtime Dining Group held its luncheon at the Railway Hotel in Warragul.

All other groups have attendance­s for the month.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 23 at the Warragul Country Club. had good Wishing Well Nursery and there were several boxes, trays and bags of plants under the bus when we left.

The next meeting on May 27 at 9.45am will feature Steve Rowe, to discuss “Success with Avocados in Victoria”. This will be followed by a question and answer session.
