Dusties have a bright future in West Gippy

-

There have been many changes at Warragul Industrials Football C lub this year, but none greater than the change from Ellinbank and District Football Club to the West Gippsland Football Netball League.

President Dale Bainbridge said the change and games throughout the year had left the club with full of confidence that it had made the right move and the future was very bright.

“Although our results this year don’t show it we have been able to allow our younger players to step up and show us what they can do,” he said.

“Players like Travis Ogden, Will Gibson, Bailey Quaife, Cooper Hampton. Darcy Norton, Tom Turner, and Tom Commaduer have all relished the challenge and it has been great to watch their confidence grow.

“Our main stay players Tyson Bale, Shane Brewster, Mick Ablett, and Corey Nickels have been tireless in their determination on the field and supportive of our young brigade.

“The stage is set for us next year with many of our talented list returning to the club and our early recruiting efforts have been very fruitful. Mr Bainbridge said the club had developed a motto for the year "One year of pain for 10 years of gain"

He said the motto for the year reinforced that the club looks forward to becoming a competitive force in 2020.

“The club has made some smart financial decisions that will see us financially strong for the next 20 plus years and through this strength we will be able to support other junior sporting clubs requiring sponsorship,” he said.

“Our board of management continues to steer the business interests of the club in a strong and professional direction.

“We have a base of loyal supporters and life members that know the direction the club has taken is positive and are on board to see us improve at a stronger level over the coming years.

“I have really enjoyed this year and look forward to what the future holds for this great club,” he said.
