Cobras thump Koo Wee Rup

-

Cora Lynn well and truly showed why they are playing finals after thumping Koo wee rup by 60 points, 17.19-121 to 9.7-61 in Sunday's semi final at Korumburra.

The Cobras had opened up a huge margin by the end of the first term, leading by six goals - 7.345 to 1.3-9.

By the second term the Demons' deficit had grown even further. Poor Koo wee rup defence and a strong forward line had led the Cobras to notch up another five majors before the halftime break.

It meant by half time, Cora Lynn had doubled Koo wee rup's score of 40 - the Cobras sat on 12.8-80.

If Koo wee rup wanted to keep their season alive, they needed to step up, and step up fast. But the Dees struggled to be effective in the damp conditions, kicking just three behinds in the third term.

Their rivals had booted another three goals in that time, and now lead the scoring by 22 points.

As the final quarter began, as became clear it was all over for the Demons. Cora Lynn hit the main target another two times.
