Drouin Bowls Club congratula­te our Pennant team in winning the grand final for the second year.

Drouin's Lorraine Kinrade, Maureen McMillan, John Kinrade, Matt Schreyer (S) defeated, Kelly Orchard, Joan Cooper, Robert Ahern (S) 29/16. Fred Banks, Ray Watson, Ann Sadowski, Ron Brodie (S), defeated Morwell's Kathy Ahern, Jenny Underwood, Lindsay Dowe and Morrie Orchard 17/14.

On Thursday July 25 we once again held the Annual Grudge match between Men vs Ladies. Three teams of each sex took to the mats, with much rivalry on display. At the conclusion of play the Ladies team was declared the winner with a score of 17/16.

On Thursday August 1 we played two games of social bowls before President John Kingrade presented the trophies for 2019 club champions. The Mens Singles award went to Ron Brodie and the Ladies Singles went to Ann Sadowski, who was also runner up in the Associatio­n Singles.

Ann Sadowski and Ron Brodie won the Associatio­n mixed pairs. Mixed Fours were Jan Aubrey, Ann Sadowski, Graeme Aubrey and Ron Brodie.

The club also played a social game of bowls for the John Gualteri Trophy. After a very good social night the winners were Noel Rubenstein, Lorraine Kinrade and Jan Aubrey. The final score was 17/16.

Jean Cheetam Invitation Night was played on August 15 with visitors coming from Trafalgar Park and Warragul clubs. Past members were presented with sheilds. During the game prizes were awarded for the good shots and the not-so good shots. A very nice supper was served after two games.

Jean Cheetam later spoke about her favourite carpet and lawn bowl memories, before a blind draw of cards for prizes donated by Jean Cheetham. Jean was later presented with a bouqet of flowers by Ann Sadowski.
