Immunisation contract
The current provider of Baw Baw Shire’s immunisation services has been re-contracted for another three years.
Council last week awarded the $184,486 immunisation services contract to Kernow Environmental Services at a cost of $184,486 for the first year followed by annual indexation.
Kernow has provided immunisation services in Baw Baw since 2015.
Council has now awarded a new three year contract to Kernow, with the option of a twoyear extension.
The provision of immunisation services involves public immunisation sessions for infants and pre-school children, and the delivery of the school immunisation program.
Cr Darren Wallace said council decided to outsource immunisation services in 2014. Before then he said council operated the program as an in-house service.
Cr Wallace said the current contract had operated “effectively and efficiently.”
He said communication from Kernow was excellent, with any issues being brought to the contract manager’s attention in a timely manner.
Cr Tricia Jones said this contract delivered the right price and local economic benefit so it was worth supporting.
“We already know we have chosen the right group to deliver immunisation services,” she said.
Officers said the contract was publicly advertised and only one tender submission was received.
Criteria used to assess the tender included price, local economic benefit, capacity to undertake the works and capability to deliver the program.
