Warragul Camera Club
On Monday, November 4 34 club members and a guest saw the Warragul Camera Club’s annual landscape competition - a photograph of natural scenery with land and sky-based elements displayed in a pictorial fashion.
It may include evidence of man, people, animals, even part of the sea provided that none of these additional elements dominate the photograph. A total of 135 entries was received and judged.
The images were judged and appraised by Sam Mariani. Laurie Snowball was the competition steward, and Marshall Cock was in charge of the visual display.
Sam is a member of four years with the Preston Photographic Club. Preston is a small friendly club in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Sam is the competition steward for the club and is an active judge and member of the APJA (Australian Photographic Judges Association). Sam has travelled to more than 60 countries and enjoys travel photography as well as landscape and street photography.
His photography passion is wildlife – in particular, African safaris. Sam owns a Nikon system with plenty of pro lenses, but now shoots exclusively Micro Four Thirds – Olympus - a great compact system and perfect for travel and being such a small inconspicuous camera, it’s great for his street photography.
